Who was Thich Nhat Hanh
Already at sixteen years old Thich Nhat Hanh had become a monk. During the U.S. war in Vietnam, the young Thich Nhat Hanh organized aid for villagers and advocated for peace. Invited to speak at Cornell University, the Vietnamese government cancelled his passport while he was abroad. This began long decades of exile during which he continued to teach and eventually established monasteries in many countries, including Plum Village in France, three in the U.S., one in Germany, and others in Thailand, and Australia.
